Ølen was a municipality in the Norwegian Fylke Rogaland . On January 1, 2006, the municipality was merged with the municipality of Vindafjord to form the new municipality of Vindafjord.
The municipality of Ølen was located on the Haugaland peninsula in the north of Rogaland. It bordered on the land side in the southwest by Vindafjord and in the east by Etne . From the seaside, Ølen bordered Kvinnherad in the northeast , Stord in the northwest and Sveio in the west .
Before January 1, 2002, Ølen was part of the Hordaland county .
