Vindafjord is a municipality in the Norwegian Fylke Rogaland . It lies in the Haugaland landscape .
The oldest evidence of settlement are the grave mounds of Utbjoa .
Since January 1, 2006, Vindafjord has been united with the former neighboring municipality of Ølen to form the new Vindafjord municipality. The community center is in Ølenssjøen.
The town's Skjold Church was set on fire in 1992, and Tomas Haugen and Varg Vikernes , both members of the black metal scene, were convicted in 1994.
