Überwasser ( Ladin Sureghes , Italian Oltretorrente ) is a fraction of the market town of Castelrotto in South Tyrol ( Italy ). The village is located on the orographic left side of the Grödner Bach in Val Gardena in the immediate vicinity of the municipality of Ortisei , to which Überwasser is a church. The postcode is also that of Ortisei (39046). The population of above water is majority ladinischsprachig why the place to Ladinien is expected. Überwasser has around 500 inhabitants. The children from Überwasser attend the schools in Ortisei.
Despite several referendums, it was not possible to incorporate the Überwasser faction into the Ortisei community.
