Þórdís Kolbrún R. Gylfadóttir

Þórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörð Gylfadóttir ( transcribed Thordis Kolbrun Reykfjörd Gylfadottir ; born November 4, 1987 in Akranes ) is an Icelandic lawyer and politician ( Independence Party ). Since January 2017 she has been Minister for Tourism, Industry and Innovation in the Icelandic Ministry of Economy and Innovation. From March to September 2019, she also headed the Ministry of Justice.

Life

Þórdís Kolbrún R. Gylfadóttir completed her studies in 2012 with a Master of Laws from the University of Reykjavík . Among other things, she was assistant to the Icelandic Minister of the Interior from 2014 to 2016 .

In the parliamentary elections on October 29, 2016 , Þórdís Kolbrún R. Gylfadóttir was elected to the Icelandic parliament Althing for the Northwestern constituency . On January 11, 2017 she became Minister for Tourism, Industry and Innovation in the Cabinet Bjarni Benediktsson (2017) , which consisted of members of the Independence Party as well as Viðreisn and Björt framtíð . She continues to hold this office in the Katrín Jakobsdóttir cabinet , which was formed on November 30, 2017 after the early election on October 28 and represents a coalition of the left-green movement , the independence party and the progressive party .

Your Ministry and the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture , headed by Kristján Þór Júlíusson as of December 2017 , form the Icelandic Ministry of Economic Affairs and Innovation ( Atvinnuvega- og nýsköpunarráðuneytið ).

After Sigríður Á. Andersen had Þórdís Kolbrún R. Gylfadóttir temporarily taken over the Ministry of Justice on March 14, 2019. On September 6, 2019, Áslaug Arna Sigurbjörnsdóttir succeeded her as Minister of Justice.
