Þórunn Helga Jónsdóttir (born December 17, 1984 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic football player . The daughter of Svava Einarsdóttir and Jón Skaptason is studying business administration .
Career

Þórunn Helga Jónsdóttir's career in Pepsideild kvenna began at the age of 16 with KR Reykjavík , whose men's division is Icelandic record champions. In 2002 she ran for both the juniors and the first team of the club and won the championship and the cup with both teams. Because of these successes, she was named the most promising young player in Iceland at the end of the season. The senior women’s championship title was defended in 2003 and further cup wins came in the following years. In the 2001/2002 , 2003/2004 and 2004/2005 seasons , Þórunn qualified with KR Reykjavík for the UEFA Women's Cup . However, you were eliminated every time in the first round. Her career in Iceland was interrupted in 2004 by a brief interlude with the Rhode Island Rams , the soccer team of the University of Rhode Island in the United States . There she showed very convincing performances and was named Rookie of the Year .
In October 2008 Þórunn moved to Brazil for Santos FC , the most professional and most developed women's football club in South America . Originally, her engagement there was only planned for two months, but she quickly managed to establish herself in the team. With the club, she won the first two Copa Libertadores Femenina and two championship titles. In February 2011 she received a contract with the CR Flamengo , but already switched to Vitória das Tabocas from Vitória de Santo Antão in January 2012 . In 2013 he switched to the Norwegian top series for the newcomer Avaldsnes IL .
National team
From 2000 Þórunn Helga Jónsdóttir went through the junior teams of the Knattspyrnusamband Íslands . On September 13, 2003, she made her debut in a game against Poland in the course of qualifying for the European Women's Football Championship in 2005 in the senior national team.
