Łucja Burzyńska completed her acting studies at the Drama Institute (Studio Dramatyczne) in her native Poznań in 1946. She made her theatrical debut in May 1946 at the New Theater Posen (Teatr Nowy w Poznaniu) under the direction of Ryszard Wasilewski with the role of Beta Lawrence in the three-act comedy Szesnastolatka (English original title: Nine Till Six ) by Aimée and Philip Stuart.

She then went to the Polish Theater in Breslau ( Teatr Polski we Wrocławiu ), where she was a permanent member of the ensemble from September 1946 to March 1990. Her first role at the Polish Theater in Wroclaw was the role of Zuzia in Damy i huzarzy (German title: Damen und Husaren ) by Aleksander Fredro , directed by Maria Leonia Jabłonkówna on the stage of the Great Theater (Teatr Wielki), in which today the Breslau Opera is playing. She had another lead role, directed by Jerzy Walden , in the Polish vaudeville The Soldier of the Queen of Madagascar by Julian Tuwim and Stanisław Dobrzański. At the side of Wacław Zdanowicz (as Saturnin Mazurkiewicz) she became the darling of the Wroclaw audience with her role.

She played in plays by William Shakespeare , Aleksander Fredro, Bertolt Brecht and Eugène Ionesco . She has also appeared in numerous pieces by authors of Polish theater literature ( Stanisław Wyspiański , Jakub Rotbaum , Szymon Szurmiej , Jan Różewicz and others). From 1999 she appeared as a guest at the Contemporary Theater in Breslau (Wrocławski Teatr Współczesny).

Since the late 1930s, before the Second World War , she was already involved in radio broadcasts and radio programs of the Polish Radio in Poznan as a teenager. During her time in Wroclaw, she worked for the theater and radio. She made radio works for children and adults, took part in satirical programs by Andrzej Waligórski and recorded radio plays (including Miriam von Truman Capote ).

She played the old Polish girl Anna, who as a child was friends with the father of the three siblings Inge, Klaus and Uwe, who visit East Prussia , their father's homeland. In its review of the film, the Frankfurter Rundschau wrote that the figure of Anna, “touchingly embodied in her self-confident old age by 90-year-old Łucja Burzyńska”, is the most impressive figure in the film.

From 1976 Burzyńska was a lecturer and acting teacher at the Drama School of the Polish Theater in Wroclaw, which was operated in the theater until 1980. For many years she was also an acting teacher at the Academy of Music in Wroclaw (Akademia Muzyczna we Wrocławiu).
