Łukasz Maszczyk

Łukasz Adam Maszczyk (born December 15, 1984 in Myszków ) is a former Polish light flyweight boxer and Olympic participant from 2008.

Boxing career

He was Polish Cadet Master in 2000, Polish Junior Master from 2001 to 2003, and Polish Master from 2004 to 2010 and 2012. At the Junior European Championship 2001 in Sarajevo he reached the quarter-finals and at the Junior European Championship 2003 in Warsaw, the second round. At EU championships he won the gold medal in Pécs in 2006 , the silver medal in Madrid in 2004 and in Odense in 2009 , and a bronze medal each in Cagliari in 2005 and in Cetniewo in 2008 .

His other successes include a bronze medal at the Boxing World Cup 2008 in Moscow , a 5th place at the European Championships in Liverpool in 2008 and a 5th place at the 2009 World Championships in Milan . In 2008 he took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing and reached the quarterfinals against Saidu Kargbo from Sierra Leone and Jafet Uutoni from Namibia, where he lost to Paddy Barnes from Ireland and was therefore eliminated in 5th place.

He was also a participant in the European Championships in 2004 in Pula , 2006 in Plovdiv , 2010 in Moscow and 2011 in Ankara , as well as the World Championships in 2005 in Mianyang , 2007 in Chicago and 2011 in Baku .

In 2012 and 2013 he played five professional fights in Poland with four wins and one loss.
