Jaux is a French commune with a population of 2,411 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Oise in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement Compiègne and the canton Compiègne-2 (until 2015: canton Compiègne-Sud-Ouest ).
geography
Jaux is located in the southwest of Compiègne on the Oise . It is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lachelle in the northwest and north, Venette in the northeast, Compiègne in the east and northeast, Lacroix-Saint-Ouen in the southeast, Armancourt in the south, Le Meux in the southwest and Jonquières in the west.
The National Route 31 runs through the municipality .
