Jaux is located in the southwest of Compiègne on the Oise . It is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lachelle in the northwest and north, Venette in the northeast, Compiègne in the east and northeast, Lacroix-Saint-Ouen in the southeast, Armancourt in the south, Le Meux in the southwest and Jonquières in the west.

The National Route 31 runs through the municipality .
