Frétoy-le-Château is located in the Pays Noyonnais about 45 kilometers north-northeast of Compiègne on the Canal du Nord . Frétoy-le-Château is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Libermont in the north, Fréniches in the northeast, Muirancourt in the east and southeast, Bussy in the south, Campagne in the southwest, Beaulieu-les-Fontaines in the west and Ercheu in the northwest.
