history
The name Margny , which can be traced back to the Latinized Madrinius , could indicate a Gallo-Roman settlement. However, the village only gained "larger" dimensions from the Middle Ages, when it served as the outlying works of Compiègne. In the Battle of Compiègne in the Hundred Years War , the Burgundian troops were able to defend an outpost here and were even able to use the desperate attack by Joan of Arc to arrest them on the bridge to Compiègne.
In the years 1733 and 1734 the "New Bridge" ( Pont Neuf ) was built.
