It belongs to the Arrondissement Compiègne and the canton Compiègne-2 (until 2015: canton Compiègne-Sud-Est ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Salvatoriens .

Saint-Sauveur is located about nine kilometers south-southwest of Compiègne in the Compiègne Forest . Saint-Sauveur is surrounded by the neighboring communities Lacroix-Saint-Ouen in the north, Saint-Jean-aux-Bois in the east, Orrouy in the south-east, Béthisy-Saint-Pierre in the south, Saintines in the south-west and Verberie in the north-west.
