Marest-sur-Matz is a French municipality with 406 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Oise in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement Compiègne and the canton Thourotte (until 2015: canton Ribécourt-Dreslincourt ). The inhabitants are called the Marestois .

geography

Marest-sur-Matz is about eleven kilometers north of Compiègne on the Matz River , a tributary of the Oise . Marest-sur-Matz is surrounded by the neighboring communities Élincourt-Sainte-Marguerite in the north, Chevincourt in the east and north-east, Mélicocq in the east and south-east, Villers-sur-Coudun in the south and south-west and Vandélicourt in the west and north-west.
