Le Meux is a French commune with 2,270 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Oise in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement Compiègne and the canton Compiègne-2 (until 2015: canton Compiègne-Sud-Ouest ).

Le Meux is located about eight kilometers southwest of Compiègne on the Oise . Le Meux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Jonquières in the north, Jaux in the northeast, Armancourt in the east, Lacroix-Saint-Ouen in the southeast, Rivecourt in the south and Longueil-Sainte-Marie in the west.

The place was mentioned in 1156 as an elm .
In 1429 the former castle was razed.
