The hanging valley Roztoka Murmeltieral ( Świstówka Roztocka in Polish ), formed by glaciers in the Ice Age, is located south of the Roztoka valley , which in turn is a side valley of the Bialka valley , in the Polish High Tatras in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship . It lies below the Brandkoppe ( Opalony Wierch ) and Ratzenkoppe ( Świstowa Czuba ) peaks and about 200 meters above the Roztokatals valley.
geography
The valley is almost a kilometer long and surrounded by mountains over 2100 meters high, especially the Brandkoppe massif .
etymology
The name is also derived from the numerous marmots (Polish: świstak) that occur here.
Flora and fauna
The valley lies above the tree line. The valley is a refuge for chamois and marmots.
climate
There is a high mountain climate in the valley.
tourism
▬ A blue-marked hiking trail leads through the valley from the Meerauge mountain laketo the Fünfseental valley. The route of the hiking trail was relocated in the valley afternumerous fatal accidents occurredat the Ratz Pass ( Świstowy Przechód )mountain pass.
