The Škrlatica is a mountain in the Julian Alps in Slovenia with an altitude of 2740 m. i. J. Škrlatica, known for its rugged cliffs, forms the highest point of the Škrlatica-Martuljek group. The mountain drops more than 1500 meters to the east into the Vrata valley and to the west into the Krnica valley. A secured path leads over the south ridge to the summit.
First ascent
It was not until 1880 that Julius Kugy managed to climb the Škrlatica together with the two mountain guides Andrej Komac and Matija Kravanja. Many ascent attempts had previously failed.
