The Great Frog Point ( Polish Żabi Szczyt Wyżni , Slovak Veľký Žabí štít ) is a mountain in the High Tatras with an altitude of 2259 m npm on the Polish - Slovak border.
Location and surroundings
Below the summit are the Fish Lake Valley in the west (Poland) and Bialkatal the east (Slovakia).
Neighboring peaks are the Dénesspitze (Niżnie Rysy), which is separated from it by the Bohemian Sea Schart , and the frog monk , which is separated from it by the Obere Froschscharte mountain pass .
etymology
The name Große Froschspitze comes from the nearby frog lakes.
tourism
The Großer Froschspitze is not on any marked hiking trail. However, it is accessible to climbers with a permit from the administration of one of the national parks . As the surrounding peaks are higher, the view from the Großer Froschspitze is limited. The shelters Schronisko PTTK nad Morskim Okiem and Schronisko PTTK w Dolinie Roztoki are suitable starting points for an ascent .
