The frog head ( Polish Żabia Czuba , Slovak Žabia kopa , Hungarian Szélső-Békás-csúcs ) is a mountain in the High Tatras with an altitude of 2080  m npm on the Polish - Slovak border.

Location and surroundings

Below the summit lie the Dolina Rybiego Potoku in the west (Poland) and Dolina Białki in the east (Slovakia).

Neighboring peaks are the Żabi Szczyt Niżni , which is separated from it by the Przełączka pod Żabią Czubą mountain pass , and the Siedem Granatów , which is separated from it by the Żabi Przechód Białczański mountain pass .

etymology

The name Żabia Czuba / Žabia kopa can be translated as frog head . The name comes from the nearby frog lakes.

tourism

The Żabia Czuba is not on any marked hiking trail. However, it is accessible to climbers with a permit from the administration of one of the national parks . The shelters Schronisko PTTK nad Morskim Okiem and Schronisko PTTK w Dolinie Roztoki are suitable starting points for an ascent .
