The Little Frog Point ( Polish Żabi Szczyt Niżni , Slovak Malý Žabí štít ) is a mountain in the High Tatras with an altitude of 2098 m npm on the Polish - Slovak border.
Location and surroundings
Below the summit are the Fish Valley ( Dolina Rybiego Potoku ) in the west (Poland) and the Bialkatal in the east (Slovakia).
Neighboring peaks are of frog Monk ( Żabi Mnich ) projecting from it by the frog-lip ( Białczańska Przełęcz is separated), and the frog head ( Żabia Czuba ) projecting from it by the frog head-lip ( Przełączka pod Żabia Czuba is separated). To the west, the Apostle Ridge ( Grań Apostołów ) falls down to the Meerauge mountain lake .
etymology
The name Żabi Szczyt Niżni or Malý Žabí štít means little frog tip , analogous to the German name. The name comes from the nearby frog lakes ( Polish Żabi Staw Jaworowy , Slovak Žabie Javorové pleso ).
tourism
The frog monk is not on a marked trail. However, it is accessible to climbers with a permit from the administration of one of the national parks . The shelters Schronisko PTTK nad Morskim Okiem and Schronisko PTTK w Dolinie Roztoki are suitable starting points for an ascent .
