Željka Markić

Željka Markić (born November 11, 1964 in Zagreb ) is a Croatian journalist , entrepreneur, activist , doctor and translator .

Life

She attended the Classical Gymnasium in Zagreb and did her doctorate at the Medical School of the University of Zagreb . She was a reporter for the BBC , NBC and RAI during the Croatian War. From 1992 to 1994 she was an area representative at Human Rights Watch and from 2004 to 2007 an editor at Nova TV and an employee of Croatian Broadcasting .

Markić has translated works by John Grisham , Antonio A. Borelli and Roy Gutman into the Croatian language . She founded the Croatian branch of the aid organization Mary’s Meals . Željka Markić is the author of several documentaries for the BBC and Channel 4 , for example , the reporter , Guy Smith , inexcusable and children of war (along with Alan Reyndols).

She is married to the physicist Tihomir Markić, with whom she has four sons.
