The Ƕ (lower case ƕ, called Hwair ) is a letter in the Latin writing system . It looks like an HV ligature . It was introduced around 1900 for transliterating the Gothic letter ? , for which the digraph hv was previously used. It corresponds to the sound value of a labialised , voiceless velar ( ) or an voiceless labiovelar fricative ( ʍ ).

Unicode contains the Hwair at the code points U + 01F6 (upper case) and U + 0195 (lower case).
