The tar ( ) is the 19th letter of the Georgian alphabet . The letter represents the sound [ ] and is transcribed in German with the letter T.

Today only the ტ is used in the Mchedruli alphabet . In the historical Chutsuri alphabet there was still the capital letter ; the lower case counterpart was the .

It was assigned the numerical value 300.
