Chutsuri

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chutsuri or Khutsuri or Chuzuri ( Georgian ხუცური , "church script ") is an old Georgian writing system . It combines the alphabets Assomtawruli (Mrglowani) for the capital letters and Nuschuri or Nuskhuri for the lower case letters. It was mainly used for religious texts from the 9th century and was in use until the 11th century when it was replaced by the Mchedruli script. The use in the religious field lasted until the 18th century.

Only recently has religious literature been printed again in Chutsuri in Georgia.
