Ⴀⴀ

The an ( ა ) is the first letter of the Georgian alphabet . The letter represents the sound [⁠ ɑ ⁠] and is indicated in German with the letter A transcribed.

Today only the ა is used in the Mchedruli alphabet . In the historical Chutsuri alphabet there was still the capital letter Ⴀ ; the lower case counterpart was the ⴀ .

It was assigned the numerical value 1.
