(1006) Lagrangea is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on September 12, 1923 by the Russian astronomer Sergei Ivanovich Belyavsky at the Crimean Observatory in Simejis .
The asteroid was named after the Italian mathematician and astronomer Joseph Louis Lagrange .
