(10119) Remarque is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 18 December 1992 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the Observatoire de Calern ( IAU code 010) in the south of France was discovered.
The asteroid belongs to the Themis family, a group of asteroids named after (24) Themis .
(10119) Remarque was named on July 28, 1999 after the German writer Erich Maria Remarque (1898–1970), who became world-famous mainly through his anti-war novel In the West Nothing New , and whose work was burned in Germany as “harmful and undesirable literature” were.
