(10122) Fröding is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on January 27, 1993 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the Observatoire de Calern ( IAU code 010) in southern France .

The asteroid belongs to the Themis family, a group of asteroids named after (24) Themis .

(10122) Fröding was named on January 6, 2007 after Gustaf Fröding (1860–1911), the most important Swedish poet of the 1890s.
