(1066) Lobelia is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on September 1, 1926 by the German astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth , who worked at the observatory on the Königstuhl near Heidelberg .
The asteroid is named after the lobelia plant genus .
