(1068) Nefertiti is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 13 September 1926 by Belgian astronomer Eugène Joseph Delporte at the Royal Observatory in Uccle was discovered.
The name of the asteroid is derived from Nefertiti , the wife of the Egyptian pharaoh Akhenaten .
