(10793) Quito is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 2 February 1992 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the European Southern Observatory was discovered.

It was named on March 2, 2000 after the city of Quito , the capital of the South American state of Ecuador .
