(1479) Inkeri is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 16 February 1938 by the Finnish astronomer Yrjö Väisälä at Turku was discovered.
The asteroid is named after a niece and granddaughter of the discoverer, as well as based on the prehistoric Finnish region of Ingermanland .
