(15837) Mariovalori is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on February 25, 1995 by the Italian astronomer Maura Tombelli at the observatory of the Osservatorio Astrofisico di Asiago on the summit “Cima Ekar” ( observatory code 098).
The asteroid belongs to the Themis family, a group of asteroids named after (24) Themis .
It was named on March 9, 2001 in honor of the Italian amateur astronomer Mario Valori (1930-2000), a member of the Montelupo Group.
