(1707) Chantal is an asteroid of the main belt discovered on September 8, 1932 by the Belgian astronomer Eugène Joseph Delporte in Ukkel .
The asteroid is dedicated either to the niece of the French astronomer Georges Roland or that of the Belgian astronomer Ginette Roland .
