(1749) Telamon is an asteroid belonging to the group of Trojans that was discovered by Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth on September 23, 1949 . As Trojans are called asteroids on the Lagrange points on the path of Jupiter run around the sun.
The asteroid was named after Telamon , a legendary figure of the Trojan War .
