(17637) Blaschke is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 11 August 1996 by the Italian-American astronomer Paul G. Comba on Observatory Prescott ( IAU code 684) in Arizona was discovered.

The asteroid was named after the Austrian mathematician Wilhelm Blaschke (1885–1962), who taught as a professor in Hamburg from 1919 and developed the university there into a center for mathematical research. His own focus of work was in the field of differential geometry , the development of which he significantly advanced.
