(2239) Paracelsus is an asteroid of the main belt , which the Swiss astronomers on September 13, 1978 Paul Wild , from zimmerwald observatory of the University of Bern in was discovered.

The asteroid is named after the doctor, alchemist, astrologer, mystic, lay theologian and philosopher Paracelsus .
