(2357) Phereclos is an asteroid belonging to the group of Jupiter Trojans . This describes asteroids that move around the sun on the Lagrange points on Jupiter's orbit .

(2357) Phereclos was discovered on January 1, 1981 by the American astronomer Edward LG Bowell at the Lowell Observatory , Anderson Mesa Station (Anderson Mesa), Flagstaff .

The asteroid was named after a Trojan craftsman who built the ship on which Paris abducted Helena to Troy.
