(29203) Schnitger is an asteroid of the main belt which was discovered on April 9, 1991 by the German astronomer Freimut Börngen at the Thuringian State Observatory Tautenburg ( IAU code 033) in Thuringia .

The asteroid was named after the important German organ builder Arp Schnitger (1648–1719), who is considered to be the finisher of the North German baroque organ and who set the tone in his northern European sphere of activity with over 100 new organs.
