(30798) Graubünden is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on February 2, 1989 by the German astronomer Freimut Börngen at the Thuringian State Observatory Tautenburg ( IAU code 033) in Thuringia .
The asteroid was named on March 28, 2002 after the Swiss canton of Graubünden , which is the largest canton in Switzerland and lies entirely in the Alps .
