(3635) Kreutz is an asteroid grazing the orbit of Mars , which was discovered on November 21, 1981 by the Czech astronomer Luboš Kohoutek at the Calar Alto Observatory ( IAU code 493) in the Spanish province of Almería .

The asteroid was named on November 26, 2004 after the German astronomer Heinrich Kreutz (1854–1907), the namesake of the Kreutz group of comets .
