(3988) Huma is an asteroid from Amor type that on June 4, 1986 by Eleanor F. Helin at Palomar has been discovered.

According to its provisional name , it is the first asteroid discovered in June 1986. On September 9, 2014, the asteroid was named by the SGAC Name An Asteroid Campaign after the Homa , birds of blessing and joy in Iranian mythology .
