(4053) Cherkasov is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on October 2, 1981 by the Ukrainian-Soviet astronomer Lyudmyla Shuravlowa at the branch of the Crimean Observatory ( IAU code 095) in Nautschnyj .
The asteroid is named after the Soviet actor Nikolai Konstantinowitsch Cherkassov (1903–1966).
