(4229) Plevitskaya is a main belt asteroid discovered by Lyudmila Ivanovna Chernych on January 22, 1971 from the Crimean Observatory .
The asteroid was named after the Russian singer Nadeschda Wassiljewna Plewizkaja (1884-1940).
