(4379) Snelling is a main belt asteroid discovered on August 13, 1988 by Carolyn Jean Spellmann Shoemaker at the Palomar Observatory .
The asteroid was named after Reginald and Heather Snelling , the owners of Leigh Creek Station in South Australia .
