(6572) Carson is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 22 September 1938 by the Finnish astronomer Yrjö Väisälä at Turku was discovered.

The asteroid was named at the suggestion of GCL Aikman on May 3, 1996 after the biologist Rachel Carson (1907–1964).
