(70679) Urzidil is an asteroid of the Main Belt , which was discovered on October 30, 1999 by Jana Tichá and Miloš Tichý at the Kleť Observatory .

The asteroid was named on April 13, 2006 after the German-speaking Prague writer Johannes Urzidil , who in his work also described the Bohemian Forest , in whose foothills Blanský les the Kleť mountain lies.
