(9322) Lindenau is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on January 10, 1989 by the German astronomer Freimut Börngen at the Thuringian state observatory in Tautenburg ( observatory code 033) in Thuringia .
The asteroid is named after the German lawyer , astronomer and minister Bernhard von Lindenau (1779–1854) who, as a patron, donated his collection of Italian panel paintings to his hometown Altenburg , where they can be seen in the Lindenau Museum named after him .
