1,5-Naphthylenediamine is a chemical compound from the group of aminobenzenes and naphthalene derivatives .

Extraction and presentation

1,5-Naphthylenediamine can be obtained by reducing 1,5-dinitronaphthalene or ammonolysis of 1,5-dihydroxynaphthalene .

properties

1,5-naphthylenediamine is a flammable, hardly inflammable, air-sensitive, dark gray solid with a characteristic odor, which is practically insoluble in water. It decomposes when heated.

use

1,5-naphthylenediamine is reacted with phosgene to 1,5-naphthalene converted, which is a raw material for polyurethane - elastomers is. It is an important raw material and intermediate for organic synthesis, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and dyes.

safety instructions

Due to the increased incidence of tumors in rats and mice, 1,5-naphthylenediamine is classified as category 2 carcinogenic.
