(11580) Bautzen is an asteroid of the main belt , the May 3, 1994 by a US-American / Canadian team led by Dr. Robert Jedicke was discovered in Tucson, Arizona.

The asteroid has been named after the city of Bautzen since April 2002 . The explorer Robert Jedicke and his brother Peter Jedicke have ancestors from Bautzen and named the asteroid after her in memory of their father's homeland.
