11 takes! is a card game by the German game designer Wolfgang Kramer , which was published by Amigo in 2010 . It is a successor to the card game 6, which was published in 1994 and won several game awards ! with modified rules. As with this one, the aim is to play all your own cards from the hand of cards in rows of numbers as quickly as possible and to get as few negative points as possible.

In the year of its publication, the game took third place in the À la carte card game award from Fairplay magazine .

Gameplay

The principle of 11 takes! is based on that of 6 takes! , Bulls! and the 2017 X! , but differs from these in some rule modifications. As with these, the aim is to play all of your own cards from the hand of cards in rows of numbers as quickly as possible and to get as few negative points as possible in the form of cards received back. In contrast to these, however, the cards are not laid out in rows, but in discard piles and do not have to be taken when a certain number of cards has been laid out, but when the distance between the card values is too great.

The game material consists of 100 number cards (horned ox) and 10 bull cards. Each of the number cards has a different number of "bulls" at the top and bottom between the numbers, which indicates how many minus points this card scores in the scoring.

Game flow

Actions per turn
  • the active player lays down a card or takes a pile
  • if he takes a stack, two more stacks are started
  • if he takes more than three cards, he receives a cop card
  • If the player has one or more bull cards when playing, he can discard several cards.

At the beginning of the game, each player is given ten number cards, which he takes in hand. The remaining cards are placed as a face-down draw pile in the middle of the table, the ten bull cards are placed next to it. The first card from the draw pile is turned over and forms the first discard pile.

Other than at 6 takes! the players do not play at the same time but one after the other starting with a starting player The currently active player puts a card from his hand on the (or later a) discard pile or takes all cards from a discard pile into his hand. If he puts down a card, it must be in ascending order to the card on display and must not be more than 10 points higher. If a player only has cards whose difference to the cards on display is greater than 10, he must take all cards from a discard pile in hand. If there is a card on a pile with a gap exceeding 100, the row continues with the 1 and so on.

If a player decides to take a full pile, or has to do so because he cannot play any suitable cards, he starts two new discard piles at the same time. To do this, he takes two cards from the draw pile and places them face up in the middle of the table. The following players can then put their cards on any pile of their choice. If the player who takes a pile takes three or more cards in hand, he also receives a bull card and places it face up in front of him. If there are no more bull cards in the middle of the table, he takes the bull card from the player who has the most bull cards in front of him. If you have one or more bull cards in front of you, you can put more than one card on a discard pile in your turn, if these are within the 10 difference for the pile in question. For each additional bull card he may do this on a further display pile.

End of game and scoring

The game ends when a player runs out of cards. To determine the loser, the “bulls” on the cards in hand are added as minus points and noted. As a rule, as many rounds as players participate and the results are added up; The winner is the player with the fewest negative points.

expenditure

11 takes! was taken by Wolfgang Kramer on the basis of the card game 6! developed and published by Amigo in 2010 for the Nuremberg Toy Fair .
