13 Arrows is the seventh studio album by Thomas Godoj . "The album title 13 Arrows says it all - 13 songs hit the target straight away and show attitude," he writes on his Facebook page. It was released on May 25, 2018 by his own music label TOMZILLAMUSIK in cooperation with FAME Recordings. This is the third album since 2014 that has been crowdfunded .
Emergence
As in 2014 and 2016, funding for this album was secured via the crowdfunding platform Startnext . The campaign started on January 13, 2018 and the funding target was again at € 55,000. This goal had to be achieved within a certain period of time as part of this campaign so that the money could be paid out and it must be used for a specific purpose. At the end of the financing phase, on April 7, 2018, over € 200,000 had been raised, again even more than on the previous album Mundwerk . On May 25, 2018, the album was presented as part of a release concert for the release date in the Rohrmeisterei Schwerte . In addition, a live DVD was shot during the release concert, the release of which was planned for the end of 2018, but was not realized. Instead, a live recording was available as a download.

The first song on the album Keine Option addresses the shift to the right in politics and society. He turns against it with the statement that “brown is and will not remain an option”.
As he writes on his homepage, figurehead comes across as angular and angular and tells of the arrival, that someone still has to find the right path and defy many a storm and not lose sight of the goal.
The song Auf die Freiheit is calmer and would be a hymn for everyone who didn't want to withdraw behind walls, but wanted to fight for everyone to have the right to live in freedom and justice. This statement becomes very clear in the chorus: “You have to know that freedom doesn't exist if it doesn't apply to everyone.” With his commitment to the civil sea rescue RESQSHIP, he shows that this song is very important to him.
In the songs Undead and Gladiators he sums up his experiences with the media and the music industry.
Music video
The first single Auf die Freiheit premiered on May 21, 2018 on YouTube . In the video, for which Michael Seifert is responsible, Thomas Godoj sings together with René Lipps . Helmet recordings of the volunteers who founded the RESQSHIP association in June 2017 to help rescue refugees in the Mediterranean could be used for this video. Thomas Godoj says in his comment on the video: "My greatest respect goes to you and I hope, however, that your commitment will soon no longer be necessary! ..... The world is not colorful, every life counts and fear and hate should be do not rule our thinking! Long live freedom! "
On July 21, 2018, Keine Sieger was also published as a lyric video on YouTube.
No Option premiered on YouTube on August 30, 2018 . In the video, which was also produced by Michael Seifert, the Ruhrpott rebels sing alongside Thomas Godoj.

The tour of the same name started on October 5, 2018 in Frankfurt am Main . The concerts originally planned for October 3 in Nuremberg and October 4 in Munich have been postponed to March 2019. On this tour, which took him through ten cities, he was accompanied by Sebastian Netz , Thomas Spindeldreher (both guitar ), Sebastian Heuckmann ( electric bass ) and Olli OZ Schmitz ( drums ). As in previous years, he is also on tour acoustically in between . In the interview he says what is important to him: “We are also on the road with a fingerstyle guitarist who replaces two or three instruments with his guitar. Accordingly, you have to flip songs apart first and arrange them differently. The heaviness of a song must also be conveyed acoustically, regardless of the key. That is of course also the claim that we have and that we try to get on stage. "

Fans of old Wirtz songs would be thrilled, because Thomas Godoj would still surpass heaviness on this crystal-clear CD. His band also knows how to please and the top-quality guitar work by René Lipps and Hannes Kelch knows how to set accents.
